چکیده

The Dark Energy Survey is proposing to constrain dark energy with four complementary probes: galaxy cluster counts, weak lensing, galaxy clustering and Type Ia Supernovae. In order to achieve this a new 3 deg CCD camera will be mounted on the Blanco 4-m telescope at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO). The camera will be sensitive up to 24 magnitude in the g,r,i and z bands. The proposed observation will cover 5,000 deg of the sky and overlap with the field of the South Pole Telescope (SPT), which will perform a blind survey of galaxy clusters, selected by their Sunyaev-Zel’dovich decrement. The specifications of DES will allow to constrain the equation of state parameter of dark energy to better then a few percent. accuracy.

Formation of Large Structures in the Acceleration Universe with a Hybrid Expansion Law

In the current paper, we have studied the effect of dark energy on for-mation where dark energy exists in the background. For this purpose, we used both WMAP9 and Planck data to study how the radius changes with redshift in these mod-els. We used different data sets to fix the cosmological parameters to obtain a solution for a spherical region under collapse. The mechanism of structure formation f...

The Dark Energy Survey Science Program

The Dark Energy Survey (DES) will enable measurements of the dark energy and dark matter densities and the dark energy equation of state through four independent methods: galaxy clusters, weak gravitational lensing, galaxy angular clustering (baryon acoustic oscillations), and supernovae. These methods, highlighted by the Dark Energy Task Force Report (DETF) as the most promising, are doubly co...

Can a galaxy redshift survey measure dark energy clustering?

A wide-field galaxy redshift survey allows one to probe galaxy clustering at largest spatial scales, which carries invaluable information on horizon-scale physics complementarily to the cosmic microwave background (CMB). Assuming the planned survey consisting of z ∼ 1 and z ∼ 3 surveys with areas of 2000 and 300 deg, respectively, we study the prospects for probing dark energy clustering from t...

Dark Energy Constraints from Baryon Acoustic Oscillations

Baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) in the galaxy power spectrum allows us to extract the scale of the comoving sound horizon at recombination, a cosmological standard ruler accurately determined by the cosmic microwave background anisotropy data. We examine various issues important in the use of BAO to probe dark energy. We find that assuming a flat universe, and priors on Ωm, Ωmh , and Ωbh 2 a...

Unbiased Estimate of Dark Energy Density from Type Ia Supernova Data

Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) are currently the best probes of the dark energy in the universe. To constrain the nature of dark energy in a model-independent manner, we allow the density of dark energy, ρX (z), to be an arbitrary function of redshift. Using simulated data from a space-based supernova pencil beam survey, we find that by optimizing the number of parameters used to parametrize the d...

Importance of supernovae at zÌ1.5 to probe dark energy

The accelerating expansion of the universe suggests that an unknown component with strongly negative pressure, called dark energy, currently dominates the dynamics of the universe. Such a component makes up ;70% of the energy density of the universe yet has not been predicted by the standard model of particle physics. The best method for exploring the nature of this dark energy is to map the re...
